My friend and I usually go to Shecky's events. You get free drinks, free samples, sometimes vendors sell things really cheap, and a goodie bag of free stuff. The bag can be reused as an overnight bag or a tote bag. The retail price of a ticket is $30, so we always go on a 1/2 off ticket deal. This deal is for one in NYC and the tickets are $12-14 depending on what night you go. From my experience, if you've never gone to a Shecky's event before, you should go to at least one. Contacting Turkey Hill for coupons

It's always an iffy subject contacting manufacturers and asking them for coupons for their products, because you don't know what they are going to say, if they even do that. I read other people's blogs about how they contacted Turkey Hill here and got loads of coupons, so I wanted to try it myself. On 7/18, three days agoemailed them and told them what my favorite ice cream was, and how I wish they could send me some coupons so I can enjoy it more often. Attached photo is what they sent me.

Not bad...From left to right, three $.35 off any half-gallon TH iced teas expiring 12/31/2013, one $.50 off TH 1.5 qt. ice cream expiring 12/31/2012, two $.50 off TH 1.5 qt. ice cream expiring 12/31/2012, and two $1.00 off of any TH product. These can mean free ice teas or pints of ice cream. And after the store doubles the $.50 and $.35, this means $1 ice cream tubs and $.30 ice teas! I hope ice cream goes on sale soon so I can use these and the Breyer's coupons! I think you should try this if you enjoy TH products, and don't forget to leave a nice comment!

Review of Crackle

Today, I bought Sally Hansen's Crackle nail polish and thought I'd review it since we are given so much incentive to try it. I bought it in Vintage Violet and Snow Blast. First, understand that it is an overcoat, so the result will depend on your base color. Second, you have to apply it right. ONLY one coat. It can be a thick coat but do not go over the nail area more than once. If you do more than one coat, it will not crack. Don't worry if you don't coat the entire nail, it is just an overcoat. So what happens is as the nail polish dries, it splits apart to create a shattered look on the nail. I tried Snow Blast over my lavender base coat, and I didn't like it (probably because I didn't know I only could use one coat, so it ended up looking like I had white out on my nails). At some point in the future, I will try this again, maybe on my toes. I wiped that off with nail polish remover, redid the lavender base coat, and tried the Violet.

If you can see, my nails look like a purple speckled Easter egg.

PROS: Cool effect

CONS: It dries quickly, creating globs of polish, kinda pricey at $6.99 each

VERDICT: I think you should definitely try it. I wouldn't buy them at $6.99 each though. Try to get ahold of coupons and combine them with buy one get the other half off deals. Or even getting ahold of one of these $3 or $2 coupons off of one at $6.99, it's still not a bad deal.

Today, I received an email from Rite Aid with a Rite Aid coupon for $2 off Sally Hansen Cosmetics. I received the email because I signed up for an account with them for rebates and extra coupons from their Video Values program. If you currently don't have an account with them, I highly suggest it. All Video Value coupons are stackable with manufacturer coupons for extra savings. Visit their website to sign up. If you got the $3 off one Sally Hansen Crackle coupon, you can use both in their sale this week. Rite Aid has a buy one get one half off sale on Sally Hansen cosmetics. Here is my idea:

Walmart Complaint

My friend and I just got back from Walmart, the one on Roosevelt and Adams Avenue. It's like everyone in the store does not understand their corporate coupon policy or couponing in general. The cashier, supervisor, and customer service all agreed on the same thing - limit 1 coupon per order, not per purchase, and just because the amount of a coupon exceeds the amount of the item means that it can not be applied. Their corporate coupon policy says that there is no limit of the amount of coupons you may have, as long as you purchase enough items required on the coupon. It also states that overage may be given as cash or as credit. We did not have the policy on hand to show them so that was our fault, but they should know, they work there. So I sent their corporate customer service an email ratting them out. I'll let you guys know what they say. But for future reference, it is worth it to bring a copy of the store coupon policy with you although it kinda sounds stupid.

If you buy a 64 oz. Farmland Skim Plus Fiber or Omega 3 CoQ10 Milk for $2.99, Pathmark will give you a 32 oz. Farmland Skim Plus free. If you go to their Facebook page here https://www.facebook.com/FarmlandFoods and "like" them, Farmland will give you a link to a $.55 coupon, so the final price would be $1.89. I did this myself and a coupon printed out with images of meat products. I'm not sure if the Farmland Foods coupon would work with Farmland Dairies products, but I'm sure going to give it a try! How often do you get discounts on milk?

With the Zavers store coupons, they are stackable with manufacturer coupons, so you can get some good deals, even some freebies! But, when you use the offer on your card, it disappears. Hello readers, and welcome to my savings blog. I wanted to start my own blog because I've read other peoples' savings blogs, and most are not original; they just link or copy from another site. There are deals that I find that others do not, or at least they do not want to share with anyone else. I definitely have no problem sharing, and I hope you'll share your findings as well. There are a few stores that I personally shop at: Pathmark, Rite Aid, Acme, and Target. Since I am a new blogger, I'll start out small with the deals that I find starting tomorrow 6/16/11, since the new circulars come out then.
